Financial aid applications can be submitted online or by mail to the Ginny Levine Shoalership Fund (GLF) Committee Chairperson, whose name and contact information will be listed in the Star Island Conferences brochure, on the Star Island website (starisland.org), and on the All Star II Financial Aid Application. Questions about the financial aid process can be directed to the GLF Committee Chairperson. The 2012 Chairperson is:

Mary Ellen Mellen or memellen@comcast.net 81 Grouse Lane (802) 795-0033 Perkinsville, VT 05151

Completed applications should be sent to the Chairperson, with those postmarked on or before March 10, 2012 being given priority. Applications postmarked after March 10 will be reviewed for financial aid consideration as they are received and as available funds permit. **Please note that application to the conference and payment of applicable program fees and deposits must be completed prior to submitting an application for financial aid. In order to make financial aid available to the greatest number of applicants, we and the Star Island Corporation ask that you apply to either the All Star II Ginny Levine Fund or the Star Island Corporation for financial assistance but not to both. We appreciate your honoring this request.

During the application process, the Chairperson will notify each applicant that their application was received ( via email or ground mail) and share the applications with the committee members only. When the ASII Conference Chairs have completed their acceptance/waiting lists, that information will be shared with the GLF Committee, whose members will confer in order to match the list of financial aid applicants against the acceptance/waiting lists. The GLF Committee will discuss the applications and decide upon a proposed allocation of funds up to the amount budgeted.

The Chairperson will notify all applicants regarding awards once conference acceptance/waiting list notifications have been sent out by the ASII Conference Chairs. The Chairperson will communicate with applicants by email and attached letter, or by phone and ground mail telling each applicant what they have been awarded and outlining the mechanics of the program.

On the Island, the All Star II Conference treasurer will pay the appropriate money to the hotel and credit the correct amount to recipients’ bills.

Following the November Chair's Meeting, the GLF committee will determine the amount of funding that will be made available for the following year's financial aid awards.
